Nooshin Meshkaty is more than just a candidate; she’s a dedicated community leader with a passion for Beverly Hills. With a background in education, technology, and a deep commitment to the city, Nooshin is the candidate uniquely qualified to drive progress and positive change in our community.
Nooshin Meshkaty, a candidate for Beverly Hills City Council, is a longtime Beverly Hills resident after moving to Beverly Hills in 1977 and graduating from BHHS in 1979.
Nooshin is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), with a B.S. & M.S. in Computer Science. She completed CSBA’s Masters in Governance program while serving on the BHUSD Board of Education (insert years2005-2009).
Currently, Nooshin is managing an Instrument Electronics Engineering team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Nooshin has been an active member of many local social and civic councils and committees including but not limited to BH Traffic and Parking Commission (6 years, 2 years as Chair), and the Technology Ad-Hoc Committee. Nooshin has served on the Board Directors of GIRL Inc., Los Angeles Chapter (6 years). Additionally, she is a member of the Education Council and Nowruz Committee of Farhang Foundation, and a member of the Visionary Women Circle. Nooshin completed Beverly Hills Police Department Citizen Police Academy in 2023 is an alumni member of Team Beverly Hills.
During her term as President of BHUSD school board, she led successful efforts to uplift BHUSD including: achieving a balanced budget; obtaining $15 Million JPA Funding; securing Measure E School Bond to complete schools building safety and modernization; championing character education and ethics programs; advocating for school safety and CCTV cameras; enhancing student-centered curriculum standards; increasing the number of District Counselors; expanding playfield green space; implementing district-wide digital classrooms, establishing a Facilities Advisory Committee; establishing a Blue Ribbon Pre-School Committee; implementing Smart Classrooms; modernizing K-8 auditoriums, playgrounds and restrooms.
Nooshin is committed to community service and believes in giving back to the community. Through these acts of compassion and commitment, she has passed on the importance of compassion and service to her children, who have now grown into successful adults, making her a proud mom.
